            The microprogram in Psychedelics & Spirituality Studies is situated at the intersection of several disciplines, including Religion, Psychology, Anthropology, and Health. It involves the examination of the spiritual, ritual, and therapeutic uses of psychedelics and other non-ordinary states of consciousness, cross-culturally and throughout history. Plant medicines have constituted an important part of humanity's ritual and religious traditions for millennia. The capacity of plant medicines to evoke feelings of empathy and gratitude, as well as insight and a sense of meaningfulness, have made them important tools for human spirituality and wellbeing and have, in recent years, led them to become the focus of renewed scientific interest.

      Candidates are required to have a four-year Bachelor degree or an equivalent degree/diploma to enroll in this microprogram.

      Students who would like to enroll in the Psychedelics & Spirituality Studies microprogram must contact the program director.

      If you would like to enroll in a microprogram without being admitted in a graduate studies program, send an email to the graduate studies office (artsgrad@uottawa.ca) and include the following documents:

        * CV
        * Copies of transcripts from all universities you have attended

      The 9 course units1 corresponds to the following three courses;
